(often referred to as substantive or
heavy) features a more in-depth review
and includes all elements of dp's
Standard Copyediting.
Semantics of your text construction as
well as intended message may involve
rewrites to eliminate wordiness and
inappropriate jargon. Transitions are
enhanced. Sentences and paragraphs
may be moved to improve readability
and flow.
Logical structure may be adjusted and
implementation or suggestion of
additions and deletions may occur.
Premium Copyeditors ensure uniformity
in tone and focus, identify gaps in
content, and suggest or rewrite text in
order to correct final copy issues.
Grants / Proposals - Premium
Copyediting means strategies, win
themes, discriminators and other
analytical representations are inserted if
not previously stated. Solutions are
offered and some elements inserted
where essential.
Technical Non-fiction or Fiction -
Premium Copyedit looks at fabric as well
as presentation. If there are stop gaps in
plots and sequencing of events or
misplaced terms - politically incorrect
applications - theories that require
redress these are notated and
corrections are presented.

dp Standard Copyeditors correct faulty
spelling, grammar, punctuation, usage.
Check cross references. Ensure consistency
in spelling, hyphenation, numerals, fonts, and
capitalizations, as well as proper sequencing
in lists and other displayed material.
Our Standard Copyeditors flag inappropriate
figures of speech, ensure key terms are
handled with consistency and that your index
or acronym list contains all necessary terms.
dp Standard Copyeditors ensure previews,
summaries, etc. reflect content. They track
continuity of content and tone, and flags
problems in these areas (but don't repair
them).
We mark ambiguous or incorrect statements
and checks for style consistency as well as
relationships between text and graphics.
