Perfect Softcover - our third-party vendors develop training manuals, novels or thick
paperbacks in this format Product title and author's name are printed on the spine.
Pagination has to be 70-80 pages for spine. Perfect binding involves digital print clamped in
a vise and drawn across a carving notch blade on the bound edge - the spine is roughed
and glue seeps into edges and notches, then the product is inserted into the cover, which
is folded around the front and back of the book.
Saddle Stitch Binding (Stapled Booklet) - In-house or third-party, this is thin-booklet
media of 40 pages or less (e.g., magazines, menus, newsletters, pamphlets, or
short-shorts). Includes 2 staples, folding, and trim. Pagination has to be divisible by 4 .The
drawback of saddle stitch is creep, which we ensure doesn't occur in final products.
Sprial, Wire-O, Plastic Coil
Coil or Spiral - Completed in-house or third-party, pagination can be 50 to 500 pages.
Provides fold over and lay flat options for work productions. There are a variety of covers
to choose from (e.g., leather, glossy plastic, vinyl, card stock).
Wire-O - Again, dp develops in-house or externally through third-party vendor. Can be a
twin- or double-loop via formed wire that enters square or rectangular holes. With both a  
narrow and wide-end a closed seam is ensured - again this product can lay flat or fold over
and provides cross-alignment where desired..
Semi-Concealed Wire-O - dp develops these in-house or through third-party vendor -
depends largely on quantity and volume. These are developed just like the wire-o;
however,the binding is concealed in the inseam.
Casebound - Adhesive, Side Sewn, Smythe Sewn, Thread Seal
Hardcover Dust Jacket - dp develops these offsite through third party vendors - books
are bound in linen with full-color dust jackets.
Casewrap Hardcover - again, dp develops these offsite through third party vendors -
books are bound in full-color, glossy covers with no dust jacket.
Minute Books
3 Ring Binders - dp develops these in-house can be vinyl, plastic or leather. Most
technical communication and grant | proposal managed content require immediate this type
of binding-often call-out in requisitions Color schemes can vary..
